SCIENTIFIC Member

We are currently looking to appoint new scientific members of the Research Grants Committee who are currently working in any of the following areas related to osteoporosis:

  • Prevention
  • Primary Care
  • Health Services Research
  • Orthopaedic
  • Falls/ geriatric
  • Exercise
  • Genetics
  • Basic Science

The successful candidates will have solid experience of practical research and research methodology.

The position is offered on a voluntary unpaid basis, but any travelling expenses will be reimbursed.

As a Scientific Member you will

  • Help to ensure that the money so generously raised by the public is put to the best possible use to support the highest-quality research
  • Advise the Charity in your individual specialist area and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees on the allocation of research funding, in line with the Charity’s research strategy
  • Assess applications for research funding received by the Charity using your experience of practical research and research methodology
  • Oversee the research grants programme and advise the Charity about the development of its Research Strategy in line with the Charity’s overall organisational strategy
